Updates from Riverview School District July 29, 2021

Dear Riverview Community:

The purpose of this communication is to provide updates on recent events in and around the Riverview School District. We hope everyone is continuing to have a great summer as we head into August and the upcoming return to school on Wednesday, September 1, 2021!

LOCAL/REGIONAL COVID-19 CASE COUNT DATA

The Riverview School District continues to receive frequent updates regarding the positive case count per 100,000 residents in both King County and our local Health Reporting Area (HRA). When vaccinations increase, positive cases decline.

As part of this communication, we wanted to provide the most recent data available, as of July 28, 2021, including two-week averages of “total number of cases per 100,000.”

NEW GUIDANCE ISSUED FROM DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH

The Riverview School District continues preparations for the beginning of the 2021-2022 school year, with our return to Full-Time, In-Person Learning this fall. We continue to take direction from Washington State Department of Health (DOH) and Public Health - Seattle & King County (PHSKC).

As we review recent guidance from the Washington State Department of Health, issued July 28, 2021, we will be sharing COVID-19 guidance for our schools prior to the beginning of the school year.

For new students and families joining Riverview this coming year, and for those students and families who previously withdrew but are opting to return to the district for Full-Time, In-Person Learning this fall, we wanted to remind everyone of upcoming registration dates and information.

Registration packets are available for pick-up or drop-off at the Riverview Educational Service Center (ESC) in Duvall during the summer. Registration packets are also available on your school's website.

Please note that registration packets are processed at each individual school. Registration packets received at the ESC will be held for processing by our schools when their offices reopen in August.

The dates each school office will reopen for the 2021-2022 school year follow:

Carnation Elementary: Opens on August 16

Cedarcrest High School: New registration appointments begin August 23. The Cedarcrest office is open each Monday during the summer.

Cherry Valley Elementary: Opens on August 23

Riverview Learning Center: Opens on August 20

Stillwater Elementary: Opens on August 16

Tolt Middle School: Opens on August 20

If you have questions about the registration process, prior to school office reopening dates, please contact the Riverview ESC at (425) 844-4500.
