If you are someone who travels through the beautiful City of Carnation on a regular basis, you should be aware of a traffic change that may catch you off guard.

The intersection of Blanche Street and Stossel Avenue is now an All-Way Stop. The revision could be easily missed for anyone used to traveling through the intersection without previously needing to stop.

The change is intended to improve traffic safety for students, families, pedestrians and motorists traveling through the area.

King County will complete additional improvements later this week, including the installation of stop bars (painted markings) to clearly indicate where vehicles must stop at the intersection.

Drivers are reminded to be attentive to the new traffic pattern, come to a complete stop and watch for pedestrians and other vehicles.
