CARNATION, DUVALL — Riverview School District is continuing to seek volunteers for its Technology Steering Committee, which will help shape priorities for future technology investments across the district.

The committee will bring together students, parents, community members, certificated and classified staff, administrators and technology staff.

Their input will help inform priorities for the district’s upcoming technology levy and guide decisions about how technology can support teaching, learning, school safety and daily operations.

Committee members will learn about Riverview’s current technology systems and hear from students and staff about their experiences and needs. They will consider topics ranging from classroom tools and devices to network reliability, cybersecurity, privacy, accessibility and artificial intelligence. The group also will look at long-term replacement needs and sustainable funding.

The district is seeking a range of perspectives. Volunteers do not need to be technology experts; experience using district technology as a student, family member or staff member can help the committee understand what works and where improvements are needed.

Student participation will be particularly valuable because students experience many of these tools firsthand.

The committee’s recommendations will be considered alongside Riverview’s strategic planning, instructional priorities, safety initiatives and long-term financial planning. Meeting dates and membership details will be shared later.

Those interested in serving are encouraged to complete the interest survey.
