The Riverview School District is proud to be a participant and partner in the WANIC program, offering high school credit to enrolling students entering grades 9, 10, 11, and 12. This year, Riverview and Cedarcrest High School will be hosting seven courses for high school credit opportunities.
Washington Network for Innovative Careers (WANIC) offers courses at various high schools in area districts each summer. These programs are open to all students entering grades 9-12, from Bellevue, Everett, Issaquah, Lake Washington, Mercer Island, Northshore, Riverview, and Snoqualmie Valley School Districts.
Tuition is free; the only cost to attend a WANIC Summer Academy class is a $50 supply fee (assistance available for students who qualify for free or reduced lunch).
Students earn .5 Occupational Education high school credits, except where noted differently. Students provide their own transportation and their own lunch.
This year, seven of the courses will be held at Cedarcrest High School, as part of the 2019 WANIC summer offerings. Students can apply to take 2D Video Game Design, Audio Production, eSports Streaming & Twitch, Freelance Art, Health, IT Academy, and Personal Finance in their home district.
